Community-Led Excellence: Masjid-E-Taha’s Dual Initiative Empowers Deserving Students
Bengaluru: Setting a benchmark for grassroots social transformation, the Masjid-E-Taha Managing Committee and the Taha Baitul Maal Committee hosted the prestigious Pratibha Puraskara Program on June 28, 2026, at the Masjid-E-Taha Tuition Class Hall in Mattikere. Registered under the Karnataka State Wakf Board, this comprehensive, multi-decadal initiative successfully synthesized rigorous academic recognition with structural welfare, awarding crucial scholarships and incentive cash prizes to top-performing SSLC and PUC students for the 2025–26 academic year.

From Humble Beginnings to Systematic Welfare
What began decades ago as a grassroots paper-collection drive by pioneers like Marhoom Uma Sahab has evolved into a formalized, state-registered institution. Beyond funding merit scholarships, the committee manages an annual budget of ₹4 to ₹6 lakh, which also funds disciplined Ramadan food kit distributions for impoverished families.
To systematically combat student dropouts, dedicated volunteers conduct exhaustive fieldwork and home visits across neighborhoods like Yeshwanthpur and Mohan Kumar Nagar, matching financial aid precisely to student needs and structural home conditions.

“True social upliftment begins when a community takes ownership of its children’s future. By transforming charitable resources into educational opportunities, this program builds a platform for communal harmony and empowers our youth to break systemic barriers.”
Samiullah Khan, President of the Masjid-E-Taha Management Committee, emphasized the institutional vision:
“Our objective is to ensure that no talented student drops out due to financial despair. By combining rigorous field verification with academic incentives, we are fostering a generation of confident, educated individuals who will actively contribute back to society.”
Highlighting the backbone of the operations, Ameer Jaan, Chairman of the Taha Baitul Maal Committee, remarked:
“The Baitul Maal is not just a fund; it is a sacred trust of transparency and community care. We have institutionalized accountability to ensure that every rupee from our donors directly fuels academic excellence and basic sustenance.”
By blending transparent financial management, cross-generational youth volunteerism, and targeted academic merit awards, the Masjid-E-Taha initiative stands as an inspiring, sustainable model for localized educational empowerment across marginalized populations.
