Empowering the Voiceless: Milli Council Paves the Way for a New Generation of Legal Defenders

Scholars and Legal Experts Converge at Milli Council to Shape National Progress at Kurnool Seminar

KURNOOL – In a significant move toward social empowerment and national development, the All India Milli Council (Andhra Pradesh Unit) convened a high-profile seminar titled “The Roles of Scholars & Lawyers In Building the Nation.” The gathering of intellectuals and community leaders underscored a dual mission: fortifying the justice system for the marginalized and pioneering new educational frontiers through the establishment of a Minority Law College in Kurnool.

A Landmark Initiative: The Minority Law College

The highlight of the seminar was the ambitious proposal to establish a dedicated law college. Recognizing Kurnool’s status as a judicial hub, the council formed a specialized committee to oversee the project. The initiative saw immediate momentum, with members pledging an initial sum of ₹10 lakhs, with further donations promised as the project advances.

Shaikh Nizamuddin, Assistant General Secretary of the Milli Council, lauded the move as a visionary step.

“Kurnool is a hub for the legal fraternity and judicial happenings; the need for such a minority institution is vital,” Nizamuddin stated. “I commend those who conceived this idea and those who are donating. We must shift the mindset of our youth. Many students pursue general degrees simply for the sake of having one. Why not choose Law? This profession is essential for building a balanced society.”

Breaking the Barrier: Addressing the Critical Shortage of Legal Representation for Dalits and Minorities

Bridging the Gap with Free Legal Aid

The seminar also addressed the systemic barriers faced by the socio-economically disadvantaged. The council committed to providing free legal services to those unable to navigate the high costs of litigation, alongside scholarship programs for merit-bound students from impoverished backgrounds.

Advocate Abdul Qadeer Nizami, President of the Milli Council AP Unit, emphasized that legal protection is a fundamental right, not a luxury.

“It is imperative to deliver free legal aid to the vulnerable, particularly Dalits and Minorities who cannot afford costly legal representation,” Nizami highlighted. “In such trying circumstances, the Milli Council’s free legal aid will serve as a lifeline and a rescue for the needy.”

A Call for Humanity and Service

The event concluded with a powerful call to action from Chief Guest Mufti Shuaibulla Khan, who linked legal advocacy to broader humanitarian values.

“Providing legal aid to the poor is not just a professional duty; it is a great step toward the service of humanity,” Khan remarked.

By integrating the wisdom of scholars with the strategic expertise of legal professionals, the Milli Council aims to foster a generation of informed citizens capable of defending their rights and contributing meaningfully to the nation’s fabric. The council now plans to launch awareness programs in junior colleges to inspire a new wave of legal professionals.
