Pehchan Cell and TNS India Foundation Conduct Hands-on Workshop to Enhance Employability and Career Readiness
Bengaluru, 24 July 2026: In a step towards strengthening students’ career prospects and preparing them for the evolving job market, the Pehchan – Placement, Training and Development Cell of Abbas Khan Degree College for Women, in association with TNS India Foundation, organised an Orientation Programme on Training and Placement at the college campus on Friday.
Unlike a conventional orientation session, the programme was designed as a practical workshop, enabling degree students to gain first-hand exposure to placement preparation, employability skills and industry expectations. The initiative focused on equipping students with the confidence and professional skills required to successfully transition from classrooms to workplaces.
Industry Experts Share Practical Insights
The workshop was led by Ms. Praveena, Manager, TNS India Foundation, along with soft skills trainers Ms. Megha Halawai and Ms. Ujwal Neelamma, who guided students through various aspects of placement readiness, communication skills, interview techniques and workplace professionalism.
Addressing the students, Ms. Praveena emphasised that technical knowledge alone is no longer sufficient in today’s competitive employment landscape.
“Success in placements comes from a combination of knowledge, confidence, communication skills and the willingness to keep learning. Students must prepare themselves not only for jobs but also for lifelong professional growth,” she said.

Principal Dr. M.S. Vidya said the college remains committed to creating opportunities that bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements.

Vice Principal Dr. Tabassum S.G. described the workshop as an important step in empowering young women through practical learning.
“Training programmes like these prepare students to face interviews confidently, improve their professional skills and make informed career choices,” she noted.
