New Delhi, 20 July, 2026: The Central Executive Committee of the All India Milli Council convened an important meeting in New Delhi on Sunday, adopting a series of resolutions on issues affecting the country and the Muslim community while reaffirming its commitment to constitutional values, social harmony, and democratic principles.
The meeting, held at the Institute Auditorium on Jogabai Main Road in Jamia Nagar, was presided over by the Council’s Working President, Maulana Aneesur Rahman Qasmi, while Sulaiman Khan, Assistant General Secretary of the organisation, conducted the proceedings. Besides members of the Central Executive Committee, special invitees from several states also attended the deliberations.
Call for Unity and Protection of Constitutional Values
Delivering the inaugural address, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, Vice President of the All India Milli Council, said the country was passing through a challenging phase that required both wisdom and collective responsibility.
“We have gathered at a time when not only our religious identity and Islamic values are being targeted, but democratic ideals and the Constitution are also facing subtle yet serious challenges,” he said.
He stressed that the community must work simultaneously on two fronts by strengthening unity within the Muslim community while also promoting human dignity, national integration, and harmonious relations with people of all faiths.
“There is no need for despair or panic. We should draw inspiration from the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), remain united, and respond to divisive attempts with patience, wisdom, and thoughtful action,” he added.

Strengthening Society Through Dialogue
In his presidential address, Maulana Aneesur Rahman Qasmi said the All India Milli Council had consistently stood for justice, constitutional governance, democratic values, and human dignity.
He emphasised that present circumstances demanded greater mutual trust among citizens and stronger dialogue and cooperation across different sections of society.
“We are facing deep intellectual, educational and cultural challenges. The strength of the community cannot be built merely through protest or reaction. It requires long-term efforts in education, constructive engagement and institution-building so that our work benefits future generations as well,” he said.
Key Resolutions Adopted
During the meeting, Executive Committee members shared their views on the prevailing national situation and unanimously resolved to translate the recommendations into concrete action.
The committee approved several resolutions expressing concern over attempts to implement the Uniform Civil Code in different states, demolition drives targeting mosques and madrasas in Rajasthan, challenges confronting educational institutions, and the continuing issue of examination paper leaks.
The committee also discussed the condition of Muslims in the country and expressed concern over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. It appealed to eligible citizens to complete their SIR registration without delay while highlighting the importance of community awareness and participation.
The meeting also reiterated the need to strengthen communal unity and social cohesion.
Organisational Decisions
The Executive Committee unanimously elected three new members to fill vacant positions in the Central Executive Committee: Advocate Asfar Jahan from Hyderabad, Maulana Shahid Nasri Al-Hanafi from Mumbai, and Maulana Alaf Naqshbandi from Gujarat.
The Council also resolved to convene its 24th General Council Meeting during October-November 2026, where organisational and national issues are expected to be discussed further.
