Wisdom Holds Investiture Ceremony After Student Council Polls, Encourages Democratic Leadership Among Students

Additional Advocate General Ismail Zabiullah praises institution’s commitment to leadership and academic excellence; Fiaz Sharief says experiential learning prepares responsible future citizens

Bengaluru: Reinforcing the importance of democratic values and leadership among young minds, Wisdom International School conducted its Investiture Ceremony after successfully completing a structured Student Council Election on its campus last week. The newly elected student leaders were formally entrusted with their responsibilities as school captains and council members in a ceremony that celebrated leadership, accountability, and civic participation.

The event also marked the presence of Ismail Zabiullah, recently appointed as the Additional Advocate General of Karnataka, who attended as the Chief Guest and commended the institution for introducing students to democratic processes through practical learning.

Addressing the gathering, Zabiullah expressed his delight at witnessing students assume leadership roles through a transparent electoral process.

“I am delighted to see students earning their positions as captains after participating in a well-structured Student Council Election. It is a meaningful initiative that educates students and teachers about the electoral system and leadership within a democratic framework,” he said.

He praised the institution’s consistent academic excellence, noting that its record of securing over 95 percent results in SSC and Board examinations over several years demonstrates how academic discipline can nurture leadership qualities.

“This institution has set a benchmark for excellence. I sincerely hope that Wisdom International School grows into a Wisdom International University in the future,” he added.

Founder and CEO of Wisdom Group of Institutions, Mohammed Fiaz Sharief, said the school intentionally designed the election to replicate the functioning of India’s democratic electoral system, enabling students to understand leadership through experience rather than theory.

“We organised a simulated Student Council Election using ballot boxes, printed ballot papers, voter identity cards and a complete election management system involving Booth Level Officers, Returning Officers and Election Commissioners. The objective was to familiarise students with the democratic process while inspiring them to become responsible future leaders,” Fiaz Sharief said.

He explained that the initiative was aimed not merely at selecting student representatives but at helping children understand what makes an effective leader and how institutions function within a democratic framework.

Fiaz Sharief also congratulated Ismail Zabiullah on his appointment as Additional Advocate General, describing it as a matter of pride for the minority community. He said accomplished role models play an important role in inspiring students to pursue ethical leadership and public service.

“Leadership flourishes when young people are guided in the right environment. Along with knowledge, they need mentorship, trust and opportunities to shoulder responsibility,” he said.

Highlighting the importance of experiential education, Fiaz Sharief said that exposing students to real-world institutional practices strengthens their understanding of democracy and develops informed, accountable citizens.

He concluded by thanking parents, teachers and the entire school staff for their wholehearted support in organising the election and investiture ceremony with professionalism, dedication and teamwork.
