Bengaluru, July 29, 2025 — A vibrant and thought-provoking celebration marked Global Tiger Day at Nayana Kannada Bhavana in Bengaluru, where over 150 school children dressed as tigers took the stage to promote awareness about tiger conservation. The event, themed “Vanishing Tiger Lineage – A Call for Protection,” was organized by the Art Cultural Educational Enlight Foundation (Regd.), under the leadership of its founder Ambika C.

A Creative Awakening for a Critical Cause

The day-long awareness campaign featured a rich blend of cultural and artistic expressions, including dance performances, street theatre, paintings, and wildlife photography, all aimed at highlighting the urgent need to protect the dwindling tiger population in India and around the world.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambika C emphasized the importance of instilling ecological responsibility in young minds.

“We believe awareness must begin at a young age. When children understand the gravity of wildlife loss, they grow up to be responsible stewards of nature,” she said.

Youth and Community Engagement at the Forefront

The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from environmentalists, social workers, educators, parents, and students from schools and colleges across the city. The children’s performances not only captivated the audience but also conveyed powerful messages about human impact on wildlife and the urgent need for conservation.

The involvement of youth in the event was seen as a strategic move to cultivate long-term commitment to environmental issues.

“It’s inspiring to see such creativity used to serve a noble cause. These children are the voice of tomorrow’s conservation movement,” said senior journalist Shantakumari.

A Celebration with a Message

Beyond cultural performances, the program served as a platform to foster environmental consciousness and collective responsibility. Through artistic expression and community involvement, the event transformed Global Tiger Day from a mere commemoration into a movement that blended awareness with action.

As Ambika C concluded,

🖼️ From tiger costumes to powerful street plays, Bengaluru’s kids sent a loud message today: Save Tigers, Save Life.

“We can’t afford to let our national animal vanish into history books. The tiger’s survival is in our hands—and in the hands of the children who performed here today.”

Context: Why Global Tiger Day Matters

Global Tiger Day, observed annually on July 29, was launched in 2010 during the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit to raise awareness about the alarming decline in tiger numbers worldwide. With India home to over 70% of the world’s tiger population, such grassroots initiatives play a crucial role in supplementing government and international conservation efforts.
