Children Lead the Way: Planting Seeds for a Greener Future

Young Environmental Champions Take Charge

In a heartwarming initiative to promote environmental awareness, children from the Children’s Islamic Organization (CIO) Jayanagar unit embarked on a green mission, planting saplings across schools, temples, churches, mosques, and even a police station in Tilak Nagar, Bengaluru. Their efforts were part of a nationwide campaign with the ambitious goal of planting 10 lakh saplings under the inspiring slogan: “Hands in the Soil, India in the Heart.”

The young eco-warriors not only planted trees but also spread a powerful message of sustainability, proving that age is no barrier to making a difference. Their enthusiasm and dedication left a lasting impression on everyone they met.

Spreading Green Consciousness Across Communities

The children’s first stop was the Tilak Nagar Police Station, where they met Inspector K. Vishwanath, ASI Saddaam Hussain, and other officers. The officers were visibly moved by the children’s commitment to the environment and praised their efforts.

“It’s inspiring to see young kids taking the lead in protecting our planet,” said Inspector Vishwanath. The police team reciprocated the gesture by offering sweets and words of encouragement to the young environmentalists.

Next, the team visited the Sri Mariamman Temple, where they interacted with temple authorities B. Palini and Y. Radhakrishna, handing over saplings and urging collective responsibility towards nature.

At Eaton Memorial Church, the children presented saplings to the presiding priest, while at Carmel Convent School, they were welcomed by Sister Renny D’Souza and teacher Vimala. The school grounds soon had new green additions, thanks to the children’s efforts.

The initiative continued at Rain Tree School, where teachers Nazia, Suhasini, and Anjum appreciated the children’s drive. The young brigade then visited Husna Masjid, engaging with Maulvi Abdul Rahim Sanjar and reinforcing the importance of environmental stewardship.
