Miss Diva Cosmo 2025 Avani Kakekochhi Launches RiGas to Improve LPG Safety

Turning Personal Loss into a Lifesaving Mission: Avani Kakekochhi Launches RiGas to Make Every Home Safer

Inspired by her aunt’s death in an LPG accident, Bengaluru entrepreneur aims to make 1,000 homes safer in the first year

BENGALURU, October 16: Avani Kakekochhi, Miss Diva Cosmo 2025 and India’s official representative at Miss Cosmo 2026, launched RiGas, an LPG management system designed to improve household safety, strengthen emergency preparedness and support cylinder tracking and replenishment.

The product was inaugurated by Dr. C. N. Manjunath, Member of Parliament, at the Laghu Udyog Bharati Karnataka Auditorium in Bengaluru. Avani, Director of Supram Technologies and Services Pvt. Ltd., is leading the initiative under the guiding philosophy, “Every Home Deserves Tomorrow.”

RiGas seeks to address LPG-related risks through technology and public awareness, with the larger goal of preventing accidents and making safety practices accessible to households and institutions.

Personal Tragedy Fuels Safety Mission

The initiative has a deeply personal origin. Avani lost her aunt in an LPG-related accident during the COVID-19 pandemic, an experience that exposed her to the devastating emotional and financial consequences of such incidents.

Determined to help prevent similar tragedies, she aims to make LPG safety awareness as familiar as first aid, encouraging people to recognise risks and respond promptly during emergencies.

Through Project Suraksha, her fire-safety advocacy initiative, Avani is working with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to expand awareness and the reach of RiGas. A key objective is to make 1906, India’s national LPG emergency helpline, as familiar as 100, enabling people to seek assistance when needed.

Karnataka Innovation With National Ambitions

RiGas has received an Elevate award and a grant of ₹11 lakh from the Karnataka Government, supporting its development and wider outreach.

The initiative proposes safety workshops in schools, residential communities and women’s groups, alongside regional-language educational material and partnerships with safety professionals, LPG distributors, educational institutions and community organisations.

Its initial one-year target is to reach 10,000 people and help make 1,000 homes or establishments safer. Over the next three to five years, it aims to reach one million people and improve safety in 100,000 homes or establishments.

From Bengaluru to the Global Stage

An aerospace engineer, entrepreneur and Bharatanatyam artist, Avani also works with her father at Supram Industries, contributing to indigenous manufacturing. She founded the Trayee School of Fine Arts, mentoring students aged four to 55, and has performed at platforms including the G20 Summit, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre and the Reserve Bank of India. She is also a recipient of a Ministry of Culture scholarship.

As India’s delegate to Miss Cosmo 2026 in Vietnam this December, she plans to take her safety advocacy to an international audience.

The initiative underscores a larger question: How can technology and public awareness work together to prevent avoidable LPG accidents and make safety a routine part of everyday life? Avani’s stated mission is to turn a personal loss into a wider effort to protect lives and build safer communities.
