KSRTC Clinches Prestigious SKOCH National Award for Digital Recruitment Excellence

New Delhi – In a significant boost to public sector governance, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) was honored with the prestigious SKOCH National Award 2025 today. The accolade recognizes the Corporation’s pioneering “Transparent Recruitment and Training Programme,” a technology-driven initiative that has redefined hiring standards within the transport sector.

The award was presented during a high-profile ceremony at the India Habitat Centre. Sri Akram Pasha, IAS, Managing Director of KSRTC, accepted the honor from Sri Sameer Kochhar, Chairman of the SKOCH Group, and Dr. Gursharan Dhanjal, Vice Chairman.

Revolutionizing Recruitment through Technology

The award highlights KSRTC’s commitment to integrity by minimizing human intervention in its hiring protocols. By transitioning to a fully automated system—ranging from application submission to final unit allocation—the Corporation has ensured a level playing field for all candidates.

Key features of this modernized approach include:

  • Automated Driving Tests: Eliminating subjective bias in skill assessment.

  • Digital Infrastructure: Utilizing online examinations and webcasting for real-time monitoring.

  • Instant Results: Implementation of auto-generated scorecards and digital document verification.

“KSRTC has ensured transparency and uniformity throughout the recruitment process by minimizing human intervention,” the Corporation stated, noting that this system successfully facilitated the induction of 2,000 drivers and conductors, 300 technical staff, and 441 candidates appointed on compassionate grounds.

A Culture of Continuous Improvement

Beyond recruitment, KSRTC has made massive strides in workforce empowerment. In just the last six months, over 12,000 employees have undergone rigorous professional training. This large-scale educational drive is credited with “contributing significantly to overall organizational development and improved performance,” signaling a new era of efficiency for the state’s transport backbone.

Recognizing Excellence in Governance

The SKOCH Awards, established in 2003 by the Delhi-based think tank SKOCH Group, are among the nation’s highest independent honors. They celebrate excellence in technology adoption, transparent policies, and impactful project implementation.

By securing this award, KSRTC joins an elite group of institutions recognized for measurable outcomes. This milestone not only validates the Corporation’s digital transformation but also sets a benchmark for other public utility services aiming for institutional growth and public trust.
