All India Milli Council Demands Dismissal of PES University Professor for Calling Student a ‘Terrorist’

Outrage After PES University Professor Labels Muslim Student a ‘Terrorist’; All India Milli Council Demands Dismissal

Bengaluru – A wave of condemnation has hit PES University following reports that a professor allegedly targeted a Muslim student with a communal slur inside a classroom. The All India Milli Council (AIMC) has issued a stinging rebuke of the incident, describing the act of labeling the student, identified as Affan, a “terrorist” as a shameful violation of educational ethics and constitutional values.

The controversy has sparked a heated debate over rising communal bias within academic spaces, with civil society groups calling for more than just a symbolic suspension of the educator involved.

A Breach of Constitutional Values

In an official statement released from the Council’s headquarters, Assistant General Secretary Sulaiman Khan expressed profound grief and anger over the development. He emphasized that educational institutions are meant to be sanctuaries of morality and tolerance, not breeding grounds for prejudice.

“Targeting a student solely on the basis of their religious identity is not only a breach of academic decorum but a blatant violation of the country’s Constitution and fundamental human rights,” Khan stated.

The Council argued that such “hateful mindsets” undermine the very fabric of the Indian education system, which is built on the principles of inclusivity and secularism.

Demand for Permanent Termination and Legal Action

While reports indicate that the university may have initiated preliminary disciplinary measures, the All India Milli Council has made it clear that a temporary suspension is an insufficient response to such a “grave crime.”

The Council has formally demanded the immediate and permanent dismissal of the professor. Furthermore, they have urged the Government of Karnataka and the state police to intervene directly.

“We demand that the police take immediate cognizance of this incident,” the statement continued. “A case must be registered against the professor under relevant sections for hate speech and for attempting to disturb communal harmony.”

Safety Concerns for Minority Students

The incident has raised alarms regarding the safety and psychological well-being of minority students on campus. The AIMC has called upon the PES University administration to move beyond reactive measures and instead implement a robust, long-term policy to prevent “Islamophobia” and discrimination.

The Council stressed that it is the administration’s primary responsibility to ensure that students from minority communities feel secure and respected within the campus environment.

Solidarity with the Victim

The All India Milli Council concluded its statement by declaring full solidarity with Affan and his family. The organization asserted that any form of hatred or religious profiling in educational institutions would be met with stiff resistance.

“The Council stands firmly with the victimized student,” the release stated, adding that there is zero tolerance for the “poison of hatred” within the hallowed halls of learning.

As of now, public pressure continues to mount on the university to provide a transparent account of the disciplinary actions taken and the steps being implemented to ensure such an incident does not recur.
