Dassault Aviation Taps Bengaluru’s Hical Technologies for Critical Rafale Components in Major Boost to India-France Defence Ties

In a significant endorsement of Indian aerospace manufacturing capabilities, French aviation giant Dassault Aviation has signed a long-term contract with Bengaluru-based Hical Technologies to manufacture and supply high-precision control system assemblies for the Rafale fighter aircraft.

The agreement, announced on March 9, 2026, positions the Indian firm as a direct supplier of mission-critical products that must meet Dassault’s stringent engineering, qualification, and reliability standards for the omnirole combat platform.

This strategic partnership extends beyond simple component supply, marking India’s deeper integration into global aerospace value chains. It represents a shift from final assembly work to precision, high-value engineering—a domain traditionally dominated by established Western and European suppliers.

“Hical Technologies has demonstrated a strong commitment to quality and reliability—values that strongly align with Dassault Aviation’s heritage of excellence,” said Mr. Bruno Coiffier, Senior Executive Vice President for Procurement and Purchasing at Dassault Aviation.

The contract carries significant strategic weight, reinforcing the longstanding India-France defence partnership while directly contributing to the Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) vision. By entrusting critical flight control systems to an Indian manufacturer, Dassault has validated the maturity of the country’s aerospace ecosystem.

Yashas Jaiveer, Managing Director of Hical Technologies, described the milestone as a testament to indigenous engineering excellence. “This milestone is a testament to the years of engineering investment, precision manufacturing discipline, and quality culture that our teams at Hical have built. Being entrusted with critical products for the Rafale, one of the most sophisticated fighter aircraft in the world, is a recognition that Indian aerospace manufacturing has arrived on the global stage. We are proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Dassault Aviation.”

Hical’s inclusion in the Rafale programme positions India as a strategic contributor to one of the world’s most operationally active fighter platforms, reinforcing the country’s ascending role in the global aerospace and defence supply chain.
