TAPMI Bengaluru Launches Centre for Social Empowerment, Championing Purpose-Driven Leadership
Bengaluru, 16 January 2026: In a powerful tribute to its founding vision, the T. A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Bengaluru, marked its annual Founders’ Day with the launch of the Centre for Social Empowerment (CSE). The initiative boldly reaffirms the institute’s decades-long commitment to weaving social responsibility into the very fabric of management education.
The event, held ahead of the 104th birth anniversary of the visionary Padma Bhushan Shri T. A. Pai, united academia, industry, and social sector leaders. Shri Pai’s legacy as an institution builder who championed societal progress provided the inspiring backdrop for the launch.
Prof. (Dr) Madhu Veeraraghavan, Pro Vice Chancellor, MAHE Bengaluru, highlighted the launch as a pivotal milestone in realizing the founder’s enduring vision for impactful, socially anchored management.
Officially inaugurated by Dr Raghavendra Prabhu P of MAHE Bengaluru, the CSE is conceived as a dynamic multidisciplinary platform. It aims to tackle pressing challenges—from unemployment and financial literacy to healthcare access and inclusive entrepreneurship—by bridging academic knowledge with grassroots action.

The Centre’s mission was powerfully underscored by Chief Guest Mr. Kushal Raj Chakravorty, Founder of Lotus Petal Foundation, who delivered the T. A. Pai Memorial Lecture. He compellingly argued that India’s true future lies in uplifting its most underserved communities. “Creating a substantial impact is what the brightest minds should focus on,” he stated, urging future leaders to harmonize inner purpose with outer impact.

The CSE will function as a hub for collaborative research, capacity building, and structured partnerships. A key collaboration with the Lotus Petal Foundation will immerse students in hands-on community projects. The Centre has also forged strategic MoUs with organizations like NCUI and United Way Bengaluru, with more alliances underway.
This launch builds upon TAPMI Bengaluru’s deeply embedded pedagogy of social responsibility. Its Social Internship Programme already engages hundreds of students annually with over 190 organizations, designing scalable, human-centric solutions.
Prof. Navaneetha Krishnan, Dean, TAPMI Bengaluru, emphasized the transformative potential of responsible business. “If undertaken responsibly, it can reduce inequality and poverty, paving the way for sustainable and inclusive growth,” he noted.
The Centre for Social Empowerment stands as a testament to TAPMI’s unwavering dedication to cultivating a new generation of empathetic leaders. It moves beyond theory, translating a legacy of purpose into actionable strategies that intertwine business excellence with community well-being and sustainable development for a more equitable future.
