BANGALORE, October 2025 – Four Indian athletes have earned the right to represent the nation at the prestigious FIBO World Muay Thai Meet 2026 in Cologne, Germany, following a rigorous selection camp held in Bangalore. The fighters, chosen from across sub-junior, junior, and senior categories, will now embark on an intensive training regimen with their sights set on international glory.

The selection trials, conducted under the watchful eye of internationally renowned martial arts leader Grand Master M.H. Abid, assessed aspiring fighters on a strict criteria of technical skill, physical fitness, tactical awareness, and overall discipline.

A Team Forged in Discipline

The selected athletes, all classified as C-Class fighters, represent the promising future of Indian Muay Thai. The team comprises a diverse range of age and weight categories, showcasing the sport’s growing appeal among India’s youth.

The selected contingent is as follows:

  • Mohammed Shuaib Ali Khan (Junior, 59.4 kg)

  • Syed Mohammed Hamza (Sub-Junior, 45.9 kg)

  • Mohammed Nawaz (Senior, 65.1 kg)

  • Syed Muhammad Hanzala (Senior, 29.7 kg)

Grand Master M.H. Abid, who supervised the selection process, expressed strong confidence in the chosen team. “These athletes have demonstrated remarkable discipline, sportsmanship, and steady progress during the selection phase,” he stated. “They embody the spirit and skill required to compete at the highest level.”

The Road to Cologne

With their places on the team secured, the fighters’ focus immediately shifts to preparation. The athletes will enter a specialized FIBO Preparation Camp, designed to hone their techniques and peak their physical conditioning for the international challenge ahead.
