Young Athletes Make Their Mark

Bengaluru: The century-old Central Muslim Association (CMA) of Karnataka is witnessing a new era of academic and extracurricular excellence under the leadership of President Farook Mehmood and General Secretary Attar Syed Murtaza Hussain. Continuing this tradition of achievement, four students from the CMA-run Abbas Khan College for Women (PUC) have earned top honours in district-level boxing and judo competitions, proving that determination and disciplined training can yield remarkable results.


Boxing Silver for Keerthana and Huda

On 13 September, PUC students Keerthana (1st PUC) and Huda (2nd PUC) showcased grit and skill at the district-level boxing competition, each winning silver medals. Their success came after just 20–25 days of intensive training.

“The girls were punctual and practiced passionately every morning and evening. They built stamina and confidence through rigorous sessions, which reflected in their bold performances,” said Harshitha, the college sports trainer.

Judo Gold and State-Level Selection

Earlier, on 28 August, students Iqra and Ghousia struck gold at the district-level judo competition, earning a place in the upcoming state-level event. Their triumph highlights the college’s growing focus on sports as a vital part of education.

Sports trainer Harshitha commended the girls’ dedication: “The students were determined to do something exceptional. Their hard work and passion for the sport were truly inspiring.”
