The event, which featured competitors across Sub-Junior, Junior, and Masters (40+) categories, saw impressive performances that have set a confident tone for the upcoming state-level contest.

Her coach, Pankaj Gupta, who is also a national-level athlete, spoke highly of her transformative journey. “When Greeshma started, she was not as confident as she is now. She is very disciplined as far as her self-care is concerned and her dedication to the sport is amazing,” Gupta stated. The championship also served as a platform for new talent to emerge. Aashkaa Das, a junior category lifter in the under-50kg weight class, was identified as a promising new face for the sport. Described as bubbly yet formidable, Das is another athlete from Coach Gupta’s stable from whom the district can keep medal hopes alive.

Adding to the medal haul, Aditya secured a silver medal in the Junior 120+ kg category, making it a particularly fruitful championship for Coach Gupta and his trainees. Three of his students have now qualified for the state-level competition.
