Bengaluru: In a gesture symbolizing peace, brotherhood, and communal harmony, a special felicitation was held at the Navashakti Peetam, Banashankari, on the occasion of Ganesha Chaturthi. The event brought together leaders from different faiths, underscoring the spirit of unity that Bengaluru is known for.

The Supreme Pontiff of Navashakti Peetam, Dr. Sri Sri Bhagavan Vishnu Datta, was felicitated by Dr. Yunus Jones, Vice-President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (Legal, RTI and HRD) and actor, along with Sufi Waliba Qadri, President of the Sufi Saints Organisation.

Speaking at the event, Sufi Waliba Qadri stressed the importance of mutual respect among communities. “India’s strength lies in its diversity. Festivals like Ganesha Chaturthi remind us that peace and brotherhood must be celebrated across faiths,” he said.

Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Yunus Jones said, “Religious tolerance and harmony are the cornerstones of our culture. By coming together in such celebrations, we send out a strong message that unity is the path to progress.”

The felicitation was not just a cultural exchange but also a reminder that Bengaluru continues to be a hub of interfaith understanding. Community members present at the program expressed that such initiatives are essential in today’s times to promote harmony and coexistence.
