Three Golds, Four Silvers: Abbas Khan Girls Shine at District-Level Judo Tournament

Students of Abbas Khan PU College for Women put up an impressive performance at the District-Level Judo Tournament, winning seven medals, including three gold and four silver, marking another sporting achievement for the institution.

The college said the performance reflected the students’ discipline, sustained training and confidence to compete at the district level.

Arts Students Sweep Three Gold Medals

The three gold medals were secured by students from the Arts stream. Zoya, a first-year Arts student, Iqra Kounain, a second-year Arts student, and Umme Hani, a first-year Arts student, emerged gold medallists in their respective categories.

Congratulating the winners, Farook Mehmood, President of the Central Muslim Association (CMA), said, “Every medal represents discipline, courage and hours of effort. These young women have made their college and community proud.”

Attar Syed Murtaza Hussain, General Secretary, CMA, said the achievement demonstrated what students could accomplish when education was combined with opportunities in sports. “Dream with confidence, train with discipline and never be afraid to compete,” he said.

Four Students Clinch Silver

The silver medallists were Keerthana and Zainab Begum, both second-year Commerce students; Fazilat Arshi, a first-year Commerce student; and Umme Kulsum, a first-year Science student.

Principal Ayesha Rukhsar said, “Our girls have shown that determination and consistent effort can turn ambition into achievement. We congratulate all seven winners.”

Vice Principal Zohra Begum said participation in competitive sports helped students develop confidence and resilience. “A medal celebrates a victory, but the courage to enter the arena builds character for life,” she said.

College Hails Young Champions

Rubina, Physical Education Teacher – AK PU College for Girls, credited regular practice and perseverance for the results. “Dream, train, believe and achieve. Our students have demonstrated that success follows when talent is supported by discipline and hard work,” she said.

The college congratulated the seven medal winners and expressed hope that the achievement would motivate more students to take up competitive sports and aim for success at higher levels.
