Jithin Kumar S, an Abhaya Bravery Awardee, represents a new generation of leadership rooted in courage, service, and grassroots commitment. Hailing from a middle-class family, his journey has been shaped by struggle, self-belief, and relentless effort. With no political background, financial backing, or external support, he carved his own path—driven purely by determination and a deep sense of social responsibility.
Today, Jithin serves as the Congress Ward President from Bellandur, Bengaluru, where he works closely with citizens to address everyday civic issues and amplify community voices. His leadership is grounded not in rhetoric, but in action.
He is also the Co-founder of the StandUp India Foundation, an NGO dedicated to inclusive development and empowerment of underprivileged communities. Through this platform, Jithin has led impactful initiatives that translate compassion into measurable change. Every year, the foundation supports the education of 50 children, covering school fees amounting to nearly ₹10 lakh annually, ensuring that poverty does not block access to learning.
Believing that true empowerment begins with economic independence, Jithin has initiated free tailoring classes for women, conducted four days a week, enabling them to acquire sustainable livelihood skills. To address food insecurity, his team distributes monthly ration kits to poor families and daily-wage workers, offering dignity along with relief.
His commitment to future generations extends to the environment and education. Jithin organizes tree plantation drives four times a year to promote ecological responsibility. He has also played a key role in renovating and painting 20 government schools, supplying essential learning materials such as books and stationery.
