Addressing the gathering, Dr. M.S. Vidya, Principal, said National Education Day is a reminder of the transformative power of learning. “Maulana Azad believed education could change lives and uplift entire communities. His vision continues to inspire us to work hard and dream big,” she said. Dr. Vidya urged students to make education their strongest tool and added that consistent effort is essential to achieving meaningful progress.
A short documentary on the life and work of Maulana Azad was screened, giving students an insight into his role in shaping India’s modern education system, including his emphasis on universal access and equal opportunity.
Lecture Highlights Azad’s Role in Building India’s Educational Foundation
Delivering a special lecture, Ms. Habeebunissa, Assistant Professor in the Department of History, spoke about Azad’s leadership during the early years of independent India. “He laid the foundation for several national institutions and believed education must reach every child, irrespective of background,” she said. She encouraged students to follow Azad’s values of curiosity, discipline, and service to society.
Ms. Habeebunissa noted that National Education Day should serve as a moment to reaffirm commitment to learning and use education as a pathway to empowerment.
