Students Explore Scholarships, Loans, and Career Paths Abroad at KVTSDC Event

Bengaluru, Karnataka – In a bid to bridge the gap between students and global education, the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Government of Karnataka, organized the International Study Abroad Fair – 2025. The event, held at a private hotel in Bengaluru, saw participation from over 60 international universities from countries including the United States and Jamaica.

The fair provided a platform for hundreds of students from across the state to interact with university representatives, explore academic programs, and learn about scholarships and career opportunities. Financial institutions, including public and private sector banks, were also present, offering education loans at competitive rates to make global education more accessible.

“Inaugurating the fair, Smt. Shivakantamma Naik, Chairman of Karnataka Vocational Training and Skill Development Corporation (KVTSDC), said, “This is a proud moment for the state. Students now have opportunities to study abroad with up to 50% scholarships being offered. I appeal to all students to make use of this platform.” The initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to empowering students and providing them with global opportunities.

International university representatives fielded a range of questions from students, from queries about specific programs to concerns about job opportunities and campus life. “Most students ask about engineering, AI, and pharmacy programs,” said Geetha Kuruba, representative of North Texas University, USA. “They want to know about facilities, courses at bachelor’s, master’s, and research levels, as well as the advantages and safety of studying at our university.”

Students who attended the fair expressed their excitement about the opportunities it presented. “I never thought I would get direct access to so many universities under one roof,” said Laxmi, a final-year engineering student. “This event gave me clarity about my options abroad.” Humera, a PUC graduate from Bengaluru, added, “I was able to learn about scholarships and education loan facilities, which makes studying abroad feel achievable for students like me.”

The fair concluded with a scheduled interaction between Karnataka ministers and students, where they will discuss the initiative’s impact and gather feedback. As students continue to explore global education opportunities, events like the International Study Abroad Fair 2025 serve as a catalyst, empowering them to shape their futures and pursue their dreams.
