Expressing deep anguish, activist Payel Sengupta questioned, “What have human beings become? Did war make us evil, or just activate an evil already lurking within us?” She praised the Bengaluru Police, particularly lady officer Afsana, for her swift action—from legal proceedings to ensuring the child’s safety.

Sengupta also highlighted the rising cases of violence in slum areas, urging stricter oversight. “State governments must track migrant laborers, while contractors must ensure their workers uphold basic human dignity,” she asserted. Her organization, Team Abhaya, pledged full support to the victim.
