Her Journey: From Village Roots to a National Cause
Born on August 18, 1990, in the serene village of Hirgana, Karkala, Sakshi’s values were shaped by her family. Her parents, Srinivasa and Sharada Prabhu, instilled in her a profound love for all living beings. This foundational kindness, combined with her own resilient spirit, ignited a lifelong passion.
After completing her schooling in Hirgana and pursuing fashion design, Sakshi’s path was forever redirected by the plight of animals in need. Settled in Suratkal with her husband, Sunil Kamath, she turned her unwavering commitment into a structured mission.
Founding Asare: A Shelter for the Unsupported
Driven by the growing need for organized rescue, Sakshi founded Asare Animal Trust—meaning “shelter for the unsupported.” Under her leadership, the Trust has become a lifeline for orphaned, injured, and abandoned animals. Sakshi and her dedicated team work tirelessly to rescue, provide critical medical care, nurture, and secure loving forever homes for their wards.
