JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) Champions Innovation with Successful Faculty Development Program

Bengaluru, July 22, 2025 – JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), in a significant collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), recently concluded a highly impactful five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) focused on “Innovation and Entrepreneurship.” The comprehensive program, designed to cultivate a robust ecosystem for fostering new ideas and ventures, equipped over 50 faculty members and incubation managers from various AICTE-approved institutions across South India with essential tools and confidence to mentor aspiring student innovators and nurture early-stage startups.

The core objective of the FDP was to empower educators with the necessary frameworks and practical insights to guide the next generation of entrepreneurs. Through a meticulously structured curriculum, participants engaged with diverse aspects of the entrepreneurial journey, from ideation to market entry.

“This initiative aimed to equip faculty members and Incubation Managers from AICTE-Approved Institutions with the tools, frameworks, and confidence to mentor student innovators and support early-stage startups,” a spokesperson for JAIN (Deemed-to-be University) stated, emphasizing the program’s foundational goal.

The program featured an impressive roster of 13 expert speakers from both industry and the startup ecosystem, who shared their invaluable insights and experiences. Daily thematic sessions delved into crucial topics, including developing an entrepreneurial mindset, understanding innovation frameworks, and formulating effective startup strategies.

A significant portion of the FDP was dedicated to hands-on workshops, providing practical experience in critical areas such as customer discovery, problem validation, and utilizing the Business Model Canvas. Participants were introduced to interactive tools vital for understanding market needs and developing viable solutions, including:

Navigating IP and Funding Landscapes

Beyond ideation, the FDP offered crucial exposure to the intricacies of Intellectual Property (IP) and startup finance. Participants gained practical insights into safeguarding innovative ideas and effectively managing various funding stages. This crucial segment ensured that faculty members are well-equipped to advise students on the practicalities of launching and sustaining a venture.
