Eco-Conscious and Inclusive Development

In sync with the World Environment Day 2025 theme—“Beat Plastic Pollution”—Pachmarhi is moving toward becoming a polythene-free tourism zone. A ₹34 lakh RO water plant is being set up to provide drinking water in reusable glass bottles, ensuring environmental responsibility without compromising visitor convenience.

At Handi Khoh, development worth ₹1.98 crore is underway, including sheds, safety railings, amphitheatre, parking, and accessibility features to enhance visitor safety and inclusivity.

Basic facilities are also being strengthened at popular eco-tourism sites within the Satpura Tiger Reserve, including Bee Fall, Mahadev, Reechgarh, Chauragarh, and others, with a budget of ₹2.13 crore.

Heritage Reimagined: Homestays and Convention Centres

Pachmarhi’s colonial-era Hilltop Bungalow is being restored into a luxury heritage homestay with four rooms, a library, pool, and restaurant, developed at a cost of ₹6.70 crore.

A multifunctional community centre, costing ₹9.90 crore, is under construction to host weddings, conferences, and large public events. It will feature a 500-seat indoor hall and a 600-person outdoor lawn, enhancing Pachmarhi’s capacity to host both social and corporate gatherings.

A central nursery is also being developed at Hotel Glen View for ₹34 lakh, supporting the region’s landscaping and green initiatives.

Wildlife Tourism Gets a Boost

In a move to attract nature lovers, CM Yadav flagged off 11 new Trex Cruiser safari vehicles. These nine-seater vehicles, operated by Madhya Pradesh Tourism, will provide a safe and immersive wildlife experience in the lush Satpura forests.

With these comprehensive upgrades and a focus on sustainability, heritage conservation, and inclusive growth, Pachmarhi is poised to become not just Madhya Pradesh’s hill tourism crown jewel—but a national model for eco-friendly, heritage-led tourism development.
