Golden Jubilee Milestone: Abbas Khan and CMA PU Colleges Host Grand Orientation for 1st PUC Cohort

Bengaluru: Commemorating a historic 50-year legacy of empowering women since its establishment in 1974, the Abbas Khan PU College for Women, Cubbonpet, alongside CMA PU College for Women, Kavalbyrasandra, hosted a grand Orientation Program for incoming 1st PUC students and their parents on June 18, 2026. Held under the management of the Central Muslim Association (CMA) Karnataka at the college conference hall, the event also served as a platform to felicitate and award prizes to academic toppers for their stellar performances.

A Beacon of Quality and Secular Education

The event showcased the institutions’ unwavering dedication to fostering inclusivity and high academic standards. Chief Guest Ms. Yasmin Begum G Walikar, Director for the Directorate of Minorities, lauded the management’s efforts in creating an exceptional educational ecosystem.

“Students from minority and other communities are learning in a secular environment. The educational ecosystem developed by the management is truly appreciable, and it is probably due to these reasons that the result is above 90%,” Walikar remarked. She added, “I must acknowledge that the CMA Group of Institutions has been doing its best in providing quality education to girls coming from marginalized and deserving families.”

“The campus of Abbas Khan College for Women is very good and spacious. Girls get a secured environment for studies, playing games, and learning martial arts,” Dr. Shahida noted, reassuring parents of their children’s safety. Addressing the new batch, she urged them to remain motivated: “Students are fortunate to get such an institution. Work hard, invest all your potential, succeed in all steps of your career, serve society, and be an asset to our beloved nation.”

The leadership reaffirmed their long-term vision to upgrade the institutional standards continuously. Hussain Sharief, Joint Secretary, attributed the growth to divine grace and teamwork, stating:

“God’s choicest blessings are on our institution. Last year’s results have been highly encouraging and our entire team of CMA has been relentlessly working to improve and enhance, not only the infrastructure but also the standard of education in terms of academics and extracurricular affairs, so that our commitment to women empowerment sees a realization.”

Reiterating this vision, Joint Secretary Riyaz expressed immense pride in the achievements of the alumni.

“I’m so happy that our young girls are learning well, succeeding in careers, and making a mark in different fields including that of judiciary,” Riyaz stated, promising that their mission to empower women through education will continue unhindered.

As the program concluded, Public Relations Officer Mazhar Khadri reminded the students of the immense support system at their disposal, rallying them toward future triumphs.

The event drew to a successful close with a joint vote of thanks from the college administration, comprising Dr. M.S. Vidya (Principal, Abbas Khan Degree College for Women), Dr. Tabassum (Vice Principal, Abbas Khan Degree College for Women), Ms. Farhath Unnisa (Principal, CMA PU College), Prof. Aysha Rukhsar (Principal, AK PU College), and Ms. Zohra Begum (Vice Principal, AK PU College), who warmly welcomed the new cohort to their transformative academic journey.
