VTU Sets Historic Benchmark: Final Semester Engineering Results Declared Just 10 Minutes Post-Exam
Bengaluru: In a ground-breaking technological feat, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has shattered its own records by announcing the final semester Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) results within a mere 10 minutes of the examination’s conclusion. The ultra-swift declaration has set a new benchmark in higher education administration across India, significantly easing the transition for thousands of graduates entering the workforce or pursuing higher studies.
The historic results were jointly released on Friday evening by VTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar and Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. U.J. Ujwal. A staggering 56,192 students appeared for the final semester examinations, which officially concluded at 5:30 p.m. By 5:40 p.m., the university had successfully compiled, verified, and dispatched the results directly to the students’ registered mobile numbers, recording a brilliant overall pass percentage of 99.98%.
Seamless Integration of Technology
This year’s rapid turnaround was driven by a meticulously planned transition to advanced digital assessment models. By re-engineering their evaluation timeline, university authorities managed to wrap up the entire grading cycle eight days ahead of schedule compared to previous academic years.
“We adopted digital evaluation of answer scripts and prepared heavily in advance to ensure we could announce the results quickly,” stated Registrar (Evaluation) Prof. U.J. Ujwal, attributing the historic feat to systemic modernization. “With the seamless cooperation of everyone involved, this ambitious goal became a reality.”
Prioritizing Student Futures
The unprecedented speed of the evaluation process is designed to give VTU graduates a competitive edge in fast-paced hiring and academic enrolment cycles. By eliminating the traditional, anxiety-inducing weeks spent waiting for marks cards, the university is actively empowering its student body.
Highlighting the institution’s progressive philosophy, VTU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar expressed immense pride in the collective effort.
“VTU has always been at the forefront of adopting technology. This result itself is definitive proof that VTU is deeply student-friendly,” Prof. Vidyashankar remarked. “Announcing results within just 10 minutes of exam completion is an incredible task. Final-year students eagerly await their results for job placements and higher education opportunities, so we made it our mission to ensure a quick announcement. I extend my heartiest congratulations to the administrative staff, the exam section, and our affiliated colleges who worked tirelessly to make this possible.”
A Culture of Continuous Improvement
This milestone is the culmination of a multi-year effort by VTU to consistently compress its evaluation timelines. The university has steadily evolved from a multi-day waiting period to a near-instantaneous digital delivery system:
-
2023: Results for 43,662 students were declared two days after the final exam.
-
2024: Results for 37,011 students were streamlined and announced within three hours.
-
2025: Results for 50,321 students broke records by dropping within one hour.
-
2026: The university achieved its ultimate milestone, clocking in at just 10 minutes for 56,192 students.
By continuously raising the bar for academic administration, VTU has not only redefined institutional efficiency but also demonstrated a deeply motivating, student-first approach to digital education governance.
