Grand Tribute Meeting Held in Bengaluru to Honour the Legacy of Maulana Hakim Mohammad Abdullah Mughisi
Scholars Highlight His Lifelong Service to Faith, Humanity and the Muslim Community
Benglauru: All India Milli Council Karnataka organised a grand and dignified “Jalsa Tazkirah-e-Mahasīn” at the premises of Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad in Bengaluru on Saturday to pay rich tributes to the remarkable services of renowned Islamic scholar and community leader, late Maulana Hakim Mohammad Abdullah Mughisi.
The event brought together eminent scholars, intellectuals and community leaders from across the country, who reflected on various aspects of the life, character and contributions of the revered scholar, fondly remembered as “Aashiq-e-Millat”.

The gathering was presided over by Maulana Naushad Alam Qasmi, President of the Karnataka unit of the All India Milli Council. The programme commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Maulana Qari Imtiyaz Rashadi.
“A Living Example of Faith, Patience and Service”
Delivering the keynote address, Maulana Dr. Abdul Malik Mughisi, successor of the late scholar, described Maulana Abdullah Mughisi as “a practical embodiment of faith, righteous action and service to religion and humanity.”
He said, “It is impossible to fully encompass all the qualities of Hazrat Aashiq-e-Millat. However, two aspects of his life remain a guiding light for us — his extraordinary caution and integrity in every matter, and his unwavering patience and gratitude under all circumstances.”
Maulana Mufti Iftikhar Ahmad Qasmi, President of Jamiat Ulama Karnataka, said the late scholar possessed greatness both outwardly and inwardly.
“We have seen our elders hold him in the highest regard and respect. That itself stands as clear testimony to his stature and influence,” he remarked.

Family Sacrificed Wealth for Religious Education
Maulana Ahmad Thamal Saudi Rashadi, Mohtamim of Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad, highlighted the lifelong dedication of Maulana Mughisi towards the welfare of the Muslim community.
“His entire life was devoted to the service of the Ummah. He nurtured his family on the same principles. This family did not strive for worldly gains for itself; rather, it dedicated vast properties and resources for the promotion of religious education and the spread of knowledge,” he said.
Speaking on the significance of knowledge and scholars in the light of the Qur’an and Hadith, Maulana Syed Manzoor Raza Abidi stated that Allah grants honour and elevation to those whose knowledge becomes beneficial for society.
“Today we remember Maulana Mughisi because his knowledge was profound, and his character and actions were equally exemplary and spotless,” he observed.
Speakers Recall His Simplicity, Compassion and Vision
Several prominent speakers paid tribute to the late scholar by recalling his personal qualities, intellectual depth and concern for the community.
Mufti Abdul Ghaffar Qasmi spoke about the countless virtues and unique qualities of Maulana Mughisi, while Maulana Farooq Azam Haban Rahimi reflected on his graceful and inspiring lifestyle.
Shaikh Habibur Rahman Salafi highlighted the late scholar’s deep concern for the Ummah and his compassionate style of addressing people. He stressed the importance of following the path of the pious predecessors.
Maulana Shaikh Munir Ahmad Rashadi fondly remembered Maulana Mughisi’s close emotional bond with Bengaluru, particularly with Darul Uloom Sabeelur Rashad and the late Hakimul Millat and Ameer-e-Shariat of Karnataka, Mufti Ashraf Ali Baqavi.
Maulana Zaheeruddin Qadri urged people to learn from the lives of great personalities and reform their own lives accordingly.
Community leader Asim Seth Afroz recalled Maulana Mughisi’s affectionate behaviour towards younger people and his warm, loving interaction with everyone.
“A Legacy That Will Inspire Future Generations”
In his presidential address, Maulana Naushad Alam Qasmi said the late scholar had left behind a priceless legacy for the community.
“Maulana Abdullah Mughisi has left behind righteous children, institutions dedicated to the propagation of religious knowledge, and an immense concern for the welfare of the Ummah. This legacy will continue to guide future generations and will remain a great treasure for him in the Hereafter,” he said.
The programme was compered by Suleiman Khan, Central Assistant General Secretary of the All India Milli Council, who also welcomed the guests.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Moulana Fiaz Sharief, Central Member of the Council, followed by an emotional supplication by Maulana Ahmad Thamal Sahib.
Among those present on the occasion were Obaidullah Sharief, Vice President of Milli Council Karnataka; Syed Shahid Ahmad, General Secretary; Syed Mazhar Qadri, Assistant General Secretary; Mohammad Yusuf, Treasurer; and Maulana Qari Mohammad Muzaffar Umari, President of Bengaluru District Milli Council.
State secretaries Maulana Azhar Nadwi and Maulana Anees Nadwi, district treasurer Nasrullah Sharief Aftab, along with several state and district office-bearers, scholars and a large gathering of the public, also attended the event, making it a memorable and spiritually uplifting tribute to one of the community’s most respected personalities.
