Bengaluru: Serious allegations have been levelled against Karnataka Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, accusing him of instigating communal violence and influencing young people toward riots during the DJ Halli–KG Halli disturbances. The claims have been formally submitted to the State Chief Secretary, Shalini Rajneesh, through a detailed letter from activist and founder of The Helping Citizen, A. Alam Pasha.
Activist’s Complaint Sent to Chief Secretary
In the letter addressed to the government, Pasha alleges that Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, in association with Maqsood Imran, played an active role in provoking youth and contributing to communal unrest. The complaint states that Maqsood Imran was “directly involved in the DJ Halli–KG Halli case and was responsible for encouraging young followers to enter the streets and create tension.”
The letter strongly condemns what it calls the manipulation of vulnerable youth. “Young people are being brainwashed into communal riots,” Pasha alleges in the complaint, calling for immediate action and a transparent investigation.
Accusations of Misleading the Community
The complaint sharply criticises what it describes as “fake religious leaders” misleading citizens and influencing community dynamics for personal political gain. The letter asserts that such individuals have failed in their responsibility to protect ordinary people, instead pushing them toward conflict and unrest.
Pasha alleges that Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan presents himself as the “sole representative of the Muslim community” and has even registered police cases against other community leaders who do not fall in line with his directions. These actions, according to the complaint, have created fear and division within the community.
Call for Legal Action and Evidence Submission
The activist claims that he and his team have compiled supporting documents, which are being prepared for submission before the court. The legal team is expected to present these materials during future proceedings.
“There is sufficient documentation to justify a detailed probe,” the complaint notes, urging the government to examine the allegations against the minister and those allegedly acting with him.
The complaint further states that the case may be taken up before the High Court if the government does not act promptly.
Need for Investigation
The allegations demand clarity from the state government, particularly given the seriousness of the claim that a serving minister may have encouraged communal tensions. The activist argues that public trust has been compromised and that only an independent and impartial investigation will restore confidence.
The letter concludes with a strong demand that the government act swiftly “to prevent further damage to society and ensure accountability from individuals in positions of power.”
No official response from Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan had been received at the time of publication.
