Akasa Air Elevates In-Flight Dining with New Global Menu, Emphasizing Health and Innovation

Bengaluru, India – Akasa Air has unveiled a comprehensive refresh of its ‘Café Akasa’ in-flight meal service, introducing a menu of 45 options that blends global flavours with health-conscious choices. This third major update in three years signals the airline’s aggressive push to set a new benchmark for onboard dining, directly responding to the evolving preferences of the modern traveller.

The new offerings are designed as a direct response to passenger demand for flexibility, wellness, and indulgence. The menu spans from protein-rich plates and superfood-inspired salads like Thai Spice Chicken Salad and Tofu Kari Pan with Edamame, to gourmet multi-course meals and inventive fusions such as Chicken Schnitzel with Garlic Spinach.

A Menu for the Modern Traveller

At the core of the refresh is a philosophy of inclusivity and choice. The menu diligently caters to a wide spectrum of dietary needs, including Jain meals, a substantial range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, and dedicated children’s meals. This ensures every passenger finds a suitable and appealing choice.

“Food is at the heart of travel, and at Akasa, we see onboard dining as an integral part of the customer experience,” said Naarayan TV, Chief Marketing Officer of Akasa Air. “This is our third menu refresh in just three years, reflecting our philosophy of continuous improvement and our ambition to consistently raise the bar in the industry. The new Café Akasa menu is a thoughtful response to what today’s traveller values most: health-forward options, diverse global inspirations, and the flexibility of all-day dining.”

Industry-Firsts and Gourmet Introductions

Mirroring its vision of connecting India with the world, Akasa Air’s latest menu features several industry-first innovations. A key highlight is the introduction of a Ready-to-Eat Cereal Bowl made from organically sourced ingredients, providing a convenient and wholesome breakfast option. Another novel addition is a takeaway-friendly protein combo pack, including a shake and a bar, aimed at fitness-conscious flyers.

For those seeking a more premium experience, the airline has introduced multi-course gourmet meals, such as the Veg Fusion Gourmet Meal and Chicken Feast Gourmet Meal, which feature desserts incorporating matcha, a first for the airline’s catering.

The onboard wooden cutlery is biodegradable.

Further minimizing its environmental footprint, the airline encourages passengers to pre-book meals to ensure accurate provisioning and reduce food waste.

Beyond the standard menu, Café Akasa maintains a tradition of celebrating regional festivals and occasions year-round. The airline offers specially curated meals for festivities ranging from Makar Sankranti and Holi to Diwali and Christmas, and allows passengers to pre-select cakes for in-flight birthday celebrations.
