Swiggy, Bounce Team Up to slash Delivery Costs and Carbon Footprint with EVs

Swiggy and Bounce Forge Strategic Alliance to Electrify Delivery Fleet

In a significant move aimed at decarbonizing last-mile logistics, Indian food delivery giant Swiggy has announced a strategic partnership with electric mobility leader Bounce. The collaboration is designed to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) among Swiggy’s vast network of delivery partners, starting with key metropolitan hubs.

The initiative promises a dual benefit: reducing the environmental impact of millions of daily deliveries while simultaneously lowering the operational costs for delivery executives, potentially boosting their earnings.

Phased Rollout and Operational Model

The first phase of this partnership will see Bounce deploy a fleet of its electric scooters across Delhi-NCR and Bengaluru over the next three months. These vehicles will be made available to Swiggy and Instamart delivery partners at exclusive, subsidized pricing, accessible through both the Bounce Daily and Swiggy Delivery Partner apps.

A key aspect of the agreement is that Bounce will serve as a full-stack provider, handling the entire lifecycle of the vehicles—including deployment, on-ground management, and maintenance. This turnkey solution ensures a hassle-free experience for riders, removing common barriers to EV adoption like maintenance concerns.

Driving the Green Agenda: Executive Perspectives

The partnership is being hailed by both companies as a critical step toward their long-term sustainability goals. Leadership from both sides emphasized the strategic importance of the alliance.

“At Swiggy, we are committed to enabling sustainable solutions that benefit both our partners and the environment,” said Saurav Goyal, Senior Vice President-Driver & Delivery Org, Swiggy. “This partnership with Bounce is a significant move towards greener and more cost-effective delivery. We aim to scale this partnership across multiple cities in the country in the coming months.”

Echoing this sentiment, Vivekananda Hallekere, Co-founder & CEO of Bounce, stated, “Our goal at Bounce is to make electric mobility mainstream by removing barriers to access. Partnering with Swiggy allows us to support delivery partners with reliable, affordable EVs while contributing to cleaner cities.”

Beyond Access: Gamifying EV Adoption

To incentivize and reward its delivery partners, the companies have launched an innovative engagement campaign dubbed the ‘Swiggy Bounce Raja’. This contest challenges delivery executives using Bounce scooters to complete the highest number of orders within a set period, with the top performer winning a free Bounce electric scooter.

The campaign has already seen tangible success, with two editions completed in May and July of this year. The winner of the inaugural campaign has already received their electric scooter, providing a powerful testimonial and motivator for wider adoption within the fleet.

Context and Analysis: A Broader Industry Shift

This partnership is not Swiggy’s first foray into electrification; the platform already boasts ties with over 50 EV partners pan-India. However, teaming with a “full-stack” player like Bounce indicates a maturing strategy focused on deep, operational partnerships rather than mere affiliations.

The move aligns with Swiggy’s ambitious public commitment to transition to a 100% electric delivery fleet by 2030. It also places the company firmly within a growing industry trend, as competitors like Zomato also push for electrification to curb emissions and manage rising fuel costs. For Bounce, this provides massive, scalable deployment for its vehicles, cementing its role as a key enabler in India’s commercial EV revolution.
