Baazigar Awards: Celebrating Resilience and Opening Doors for Students
“ಹೋರಾಟದಿಂದ ಯಶಸ್ಸಿಗೆ: ಬಾಜಿಗರ್ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿಗಳು ಅನಾಮಧೇಯ ವಿಜೇತರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿದೆ”
Inspiring Event Honors Students Overcoming Adversity
Bengaluru: Over 200 students from challenging backgrounds gathered for the Baazigar Awards, a groundbreaking initiative by the Active Bengaluru Foundation (ABF) under its Mission NoDropout program. Unlike traditional award ceremonies that celebrate high academic achievers, this event recognized the extraordinary determination of students who succeeded against all odds—proving that resilience is just as commendable as top marks.
The ceremony not only honored students who cleared their SSLC supplementary examinations but also provided crucial career guidance, ensuring they have a clear path forward.
Career Counseling Opens New Horizons
The highlight of the event was an engaging career counseling session led by Ameen-e-Muddasar, one of India’s leading career counselors from Cigma. He introduced students to diverse opportunities beyond conventional academic routes, emphasizing skill-based courses in ITI, paramedics, hospitality, and diplomas that lead directly to employment.
“Success isn’t just about scoring 90%—it’s about perseverance and finding the right opportunity,” said Muddasar. “These students have already shown incredible strength. Now, they must explore vocational paths that can transform their futures.”
Felicitations and Future Pathways
The award ceremony honored students with mementos and certificates, celebrating their hard-earned achievements. Leading educational institutions, including Shama Institute of Medical Sciences, Shifa Paramedics Institute, Prestige Institute, MS Polytechnic, M.O. ITI, HMS, and HKK ITI, set up admission desks to guide attendees toward immediate enrollment opportunities.
Through Mission NoDropout, ABF has already impacted over 1,100 students, providing free coaching across 22 centers in Bengaluru. Of these, 450-500 students cleared their supplementary exams in the first attempt, with another 10-20% expected to succeed in the second round of results in early July.

No Student Left Behind
For the few who may not clear the SSLC exams even after two attempts, ABF has established a dedicated helpline (*9364024365*) to assist them in enrolling in job-oriented skill courses. “Every student deserves a chance to succeed,” said Tauseef Ahmed, a key organizer. “Our mission is to ensure no one is left without options.”
A Call to Action for Broader Impact
ABF has urged charitable institutions and organizations across Karnataka to replicate this model, offering support to the thousands of students at risk of dropping out. The foundation is ready to share its expertise and technical knowledge to help scale this initiative statewide.
Gratitude for the Unsung Heroes
The success of Mission NoDropout would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of school managements, teachers, and volunteers. “Their dedication has transformed countless lives,” Ahmed added. “This is just the beginning—we will continue empowering students to dream big and achieve bigger.”
The Baazigar Awards stands as a testament to the power of opportunity, proving that with the right support, every student can script their own success story.
