Minister Madhu Bangarappa Holds Talks with ADB Officials

Bengaluru: In a significant move to enhance school education in Karnataka, Minister for Primary and Higher Education Madhu Bangarappa held discussions with officials from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at Vidhana Soudha today. The meeting focused on expanding Karnataka Public Schools (KPS), which aim to provide high-quality education from pre-primary to pre-university levels under a single roof.

A Commitment to Rural Educational Development

Speaking on the initiative, Minister Bangarappa emphasized that the KPS model is designed to bridge educational gaps in rural areas and ensure that students receive comprehensive learning opportunities without facing setbacks. “Karnataka Public Schools are transforming the educational landscape in the state, particularly in rural regions. Our goal is to ensure that no child is left behind in their learning journey,” he stated.

Strategic Planning for Future Growth

During the discussions, officials explored various ways to strengthen the KPS network with the assistance of ADB funding. Key areas of focus included enhancing learning infrastructure, improving teaching methodologies, and adopting best practices to elevate the quality of education. Experts and senior officials provided crucial recommendations to make the initiative more impactful.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary of the Education Department, Rashmi Mahesh, along with Commissioner Trilok Chandra, State Project Director M. Kumar Rao, Dharwad Division Additional Commissioner Jayashree Shintre, and Kalaburagi Division Additional Commissioner Dr. Akash.

With ADB’s collaboration, the Karnataka government is set to take a significant leap forward in shaping a more inclusive and progressive education system for future generations
