Jareena: From an Average Student to an Empowering Educator and Entrepreneur
Jareena’s journey is a powerful story of perseverance, self-belief and purposeful entrepreneurship. Born and raised in a lower-middle-class family, she completed her schooling and PUC in a government-aided institution before pursuing her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at reputed private colleges through merit scholarships. Though multiple multinational companies selected her after graduation, family circumstances prevented her from pursuing a corporate career away from home. She chose teaching instead—a profession that had always been close to her heart.
Since college, Jareena had conducted home tuition classes to meet her personal expenses, guided by her parents’ belief that hard work and self-reliance are the foundations of dignity. An average student during her early school years, she transformed into a class topper from high school through college, inspired by teachers who recognized her potential. Their faith in her planted a lifelong dream: to become the teacher who could change another child’s future.
She began as a lecturer at a private institution and later moved to Bengaluru after marriage. Motherhood brought profound joy but also a difficult choice when her son required additional care due to a walking difficulty. Choosing her child over her career, Jareena stepped away from formal employment but never abandoned education. She continued teaching through tuition classes while investing her earnings in professional certifications and continuously upgrading her knowledge.
She founded TwinkleBees Tuition, but the COVID-19 pandemic brought classes and income to a standstill. During the second wave, she received an attractive online teaching opportunity. Yet instead of choosing security, she chose entrepreneurship. With just ₹3,000 borrowed from her husband, an old laptop and immense determination, she launched her own online academy.
As student enrolments grew, Jareena recognized an opportunity beyond her own success. She began employing highly educated mothers who had paused their careers for their families, creating a platform where women could rebuild their careers with dignity and confidence.
Within a year, TwinkleBees expanded from a small tuition initiative into an educational institution reaching learners from Udumalpet to the USA. Today, TwinkleBees Academy operates across preschool education, academic coaching and online learning, while providing employment to 35+ women.
Her mission extends beyond business. TwinkleBees offers free education to underprivileged children and children from single-parent families, driven by her conviction that financial circumstances should never determine a child’s access to quality education.
For Jareena, recognition is not a crown but a responsibility. Her dream is to educate many more disadvantaged children and empower countless women to rediscover their confidence, become financially independent and create new possibilities for their families.
