Abbas Khan College for Women Celebrates College Day with Grandeur and Inspiring Messages

Bengaluru: Abbas Khan College for Women in Cubbonpet celebrated its College Day with grandeur and enthusiasm, turning the campus into a vibrant platform of inspiration, talent and motivation. The programme brought together students, faculty members, parents and dignitaries in a celebration that highlighted the transformative power of education and the growing role of women in society.

“Education is the Greatest Strength of Every Student”

Presiding over the event, CMA President Farook Mehmood urged students to look beyond marks and examinations and focus on discovering the true purpose of life. “College life is not limited to classrooms and performances. It is a precious phase to understand our responsibilities, reflect on our goals and shape our future,” he said.

Emphasising the importance of learning, he stated, “Education is the greatest strength of every student. The first revealed word in the Holy Quran was ‘Iqra’ — Read. Learning is not merely an option, but a responsibility.”

Building Character Beyond Degrees

Referring to the institution’s 50 years of educational service, Farook Mehmood said the college remains committed to the holistic development of students. “Students must become intellectually strong, emotionally confident, physically disciplined and socially responsible citizens,” he noted.

He further reminded students that success should not be measured only through employment or academic achievements. “A degree may help you secure a job, but values, courage and compassion are what give real meaning to life. Along with success, building a noble character is equally important,” he added.

Women Must Lead with Confidence and Courage

Chief guest and Karnataka Media Academy Chairperson Ayesha Khanum inspired students with a powerful message on perseverance and self-belief. “Success never comes easily. It is achieved only through hard work, honesty and confidence,” she said.

Encouraging students to rise above failures and social pressures, she advised them to trust their abilities and continue moving forward with determination. “Women today must emerge as leaders in every field. The courage to question, think independently and utilise opportunities with confidence is the key to meaningful leadership,” she said.

Culture, Talent and Encouragement Take Centre Stage

The celebration featured colourful cultural performances, including dance and music presentations by students, reflecting creativity and confidence. Talented students were felicitated during the programme, making the occasion a memorable tribute to excellence and dedication.

Several CMA office-bearers, faculty members, non-teaching staff, parents and students attended the programme, which was led by Vice Principal Dr. Syeda Tabassum S.G. and Degree College Principal Prof. Dr. M.S. Vidya.
