Deepashree: Turning Adversity into Creativity, Entrepreneurship and a Mission to Empower Women
A Journey Rebuilt Through Courage and Creativity
Nominated for the Abhaya Dasabhuja Award 2026, Deepashree’s journey reflects creativity, resilience and the determination to transform challenges into purposeful opportunities. With a background in Psychology and Journalism, her early years were shaped by diverse creative pursuits, including ceramics, theatre, dance and culinary arts, alongside a strong interest in styling and jewellery.
Life brought profound challenges, but Deepashree chose to rebuild with courage. Driven by her passion for design and entrepreneurship, she initially ran a women’s boutique before working as a Montessori educator while raising her young son independently.
From Passion to Purposeful Entrepreneurship
Her entrepreneurial journey took a decisive turn when she professionally trained in the jewellery trade and launched Jewelry by Deepashree, specialising in curated silver jewellery and complete bridal sets. Alongside her jewellery venture, she has also developed a pure vegetarian catering enterprise with her 17-year-old son, Adhithya, combining creativity, enterprise and family partnership.
For Deepashree, entrepreneurship is more than business. It is an expression of independence, creativity and the courage to begin again.
A Vision to Empower Women Through the Dashabhuja Spirit
As Brand Ambassador for the Group for Women, Deepashree envisions creating practical avenues for women to learn, connect and grow. Her proposed initiatives include experiential workshops on home-based entrepreneurship, styling and creative arts; mentoring for women starting ventures in jewellery, fashion, culinary arts and education; and regular networking meetups and collaborative showcases for women creators.
She also seeks to use digital platforms to spotlight inspiring women and represent the organisation through forums, panels and podcasts advocating financial independence and self-expression. Her vision extends to partnerships with vocational centres and NGOs supporting underprivileged women and young adults, along with mother-child programmes that encourage shared skills and growth.
Deepashree’s story is one of resilience transformed into purpose, with creativity serving not merely as an art, but as a pathway to independence, dignity and empowerment.

Inspiring!! 👏
