BENGALURU<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 In a significant push to ensure accurate demographic representation, Karnataka’s Madiga Mahasabha has launched an awareness campaign directed at the city’s civic workers, instructing them to strictly register under their specific sub-caste, ‘Madiga’, in the upcoming 2025 Socio-Economic and Educational Survey.<\/p>\n

The campaign was inaugurated by Karnataka’s Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister, K.H. Muniyappa, at a gathering held at the Putanna Shetty Town Hall in Bengaluru.<\/p>\n

Addressing the assembled civic workers from across Bengaluru’s 198 wards, Minister Muniyappa framed the survey as a critical tool for community advancement. He emphasized the government’s proactive approach, assuring workers that officials would reach out to them directly.<\/p>\n

“We will come to your very doorstep for this survey, and you must be present on that occasion,” Muniyappa stated. “We are coming together for the development of the community and for the benefit of our future generations.”<\/p>\n

He stressed that an accurate count is essential for securing rightful government benefits and schemes. “If our community’s population is not correctly recorded, it is a loss for all of us. You must understand this. The population figures are available in all commission reports; you must register accordingly in the central survey and the upcoming one,” the Minister added.<\/p>\n

A core message of the event was the need for precise and uniform caste identification. Leaders explicitly instructed civic workers to avoid broader, generic caste categories.<\/p>\n

“In the survey being conducted in Bangalore city, community civic workers must register their caste as ‘Madiga’,” Minister Muniyappa directed. “Under no circumstances should you register as Adi Karnataka, Adi Dravida, or Adi Andhra. Please register only your original caste, ‘Madiga’.”<\/p>\n

Further clarifying the procedural details, he specified, “In your caste column, you should write Religion: Hindu, Caste: Madiga. The caste code number B-061 must be used.”<\/p>\n
