Bengaluru Police, 1M1B Launch RISE to Reach 5 Lakh Students Across 1,200 Schools and Colleges<\/span><\/h2>\n

Bengaluru:<\/strong> Silicon City Police, in partnership with 1M1B (One Million for One Billion)<\/strong>, has launched RISE, a youth-led campaign aimed at reaching more than five lakh students across 1,200 schools and colleges as part of efforts to prevent drug abuse through awareness, education and youth participation.<\/p>\n

The initiative supports the Karnataka Government\u2019s goal, under Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar,<\/strong> of making Karnataka drug-free and addiction-free by 2028. RISE builds on the city police\u2019s anti-drug initiatives and complements the government\u2019s \u201cBeda Bro\u201d<\/strong> campaign. 1M1B will serve as the Youth Engagement and Scale Partner, supporting outreach and digital participation.<\/p>\n

Built around the message \u201cPurpose Is My High\u201d,<\/strong> the campaign seeks to shift the focus from awareness and enforcement to prevention, resilience and positive choices. Students will be encouraged to identify activities that give them purpose, including sports, music, technology, creativity, entrepreneurship, education and community service.<\/p>\n

Over the coming months, police officers will conduct interactive sessions covering substance abuse, peer pressure, responsible decision-making and positive life choices. 1M1B will support campus activities, youth-generated content, creator challenges and social media campaigns. Students and creators can participate through Reels, music, art, memes and short videos under #PurposeIsMyHigh. Schools and colleges will also be encouraged to create \u201cPurpose Is My High\u201d walls where students can share what inspires them.<\/p>\n

Grade 11 student and 1M1B Changemaker Rishan Subodh of Inventure Academy,<\/strong><\/span> Bengaluru, has been appointed RISE Youth Ambassador. He will represent the youth voice of the campaign and encourage students to choose purpose over addiction. Awareness sessions will be held across the 1,200 participating institutions, with outstanding creators and institutions receiving opportunities to interact with Bengaluru Police leadership.<\/p>\n

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh, IPS, said, \u201cThe fight against drug abuse cannot be won through enforcement alone. It requires prevention, awareness, community participation and the active involvement of young people. Through RISE, we are taking this message directly to students and encouraging them to make informed choices and choose purpose over addiction.\u201d<\/p>\n

A 1M1B spokesperson said wellbeing must come before skills and careers. \u201cA young person cannot build a career, pursue a dream or discover their purpose if their wellbeing is compromised,\u201d the spokesperson said, adding that protecting young people\u2019s health and wellbeing is essential to helping them build a better future.<\/p>\n

Founded by Manav Subodh, 1M1B is a UN-accredited nonprofit working on AI, green skills, employability, leadership and the future of work. Its programmes span more than 5,000 schools and colleges, 500,000 educators and 900,000 young people.<\/p>\n
