Congress Demands Supreme Court Probe Into Alleged Theft of Ayodhya Temple Donations<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Bengaluru <\/b>\u2014 The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) has launched a sharp offensive against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), demanding a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the alleged theft of cash and gold ornaments offered by devotees at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.<\/p>\n

Led by KPCC General Secretary S. Manohar, the party accused the Central Government and the Uttar Pradesh state administration of shielding the accused priests and remaining silent on the alleged irregularities.<\/p>\n

Allegations of High-Level Inaction<\/h3>\n

Speaking at a public demonstration, S. Manohar alleged that the political outfits that spearheaded the nationwide donation drives for the temple’s construction have now turned a blind eye to the desecration of its finances.<\/p>\n

“The BJP, RSS, and various affiliated Hindu organizations collected thousands of crores in donations from devout citizens across the country,” Manohar<\/strong> stated. “Today, it is deeply deeply disheartening that the very donation boxes placed before the idol of Lord Shri Ram are allegedly being looted, and those in power are protecting the culprits.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The opposition party targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their perceived inaction, claiming a contradiction between their religious rhetoric and administrative accountability.<\/p>\n

“We see a complete failure on the part of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to initiate strict action against local priests accused of siphoning off gold and cash worth crores,” Manohar added. “Instead of bringing transparency, the government appears to be standing in support of those who have betrayed the faith of millions.”<\/p>\n

Public Awareness and Growing Protests<\/h3>\n

To draw public attention to the issue, the KPCC organized a unique awareness campaign featuring an activist dressed as Lord Shri Ram. The protest took to the streets to distribute informative pamphlets among citizens, highlighting the alleged misuse of temple funds and calling for the immediate arrest of the accused.<\/p>\n

The Congress leadership emphasized that because the sanctity of one of India\u2019s most prominent spiritual centers has been compromised, a localized police inquiry would insufficient.<\/p>\n

“This corruption has desecrated one of the holiest places in the country,” the KPCC General Secretary noted during the distribution drive. “Therefore, we strongly demand that the Hon\u2019ble Chief Justice and Judges of the Supreme Court step in directly to supervise a transparent investigation. Everyone involved must be brought to justice and imprisoned.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The demonstration saw significant participation from local leadership and party workers, including A. Anand, Prakash G., Aditya, Hemaraj, Anand Kumar, Kushal Haruvegowda, and Umesh, alongside scores of party loyalists who vowed to scale up the agitation if an independent probe is not instituted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
