Sada-e-Ittehad warns against \u201cineffective\u201d leadership in Waqf Board, criticized former minister<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

Bengaluru <\/b>\u2014 A prominent Muslim coalition has demanded that three minority community legislators be granted cabinet positions in Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar\u2019s newly formed Congress government, warning that failure to ensure fair representation could alienate the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mujahid Ali Baba,<\/strong> state president of the Sada-e-Ittehad State Unity Federation, told reporters in Bengaluru on Tuesday that three particular lawmakers<\/strong>\u2014Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader,<\/strong> Shivaji Nagar MLA Rizwan Arshad<\/strong>, and Legislative Council chief whip Saleem Ahmed<\/strong>\u2014are \u201chighly qualified, educated, and capable\u201d of holding ministerial portfolios.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cKhader is an efficient politician who should be given key departments such as Public Works or Home. He has the ability to bring the entire Muslim community together,\u201d Baba said. \u201cRizwan Arshad and Saleem Ahmed are equally deserving and should also be inducted as ministers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The demand comes amid growing unease within sections of the Muslim community over perceived neglect in the state\u2019s political establishment.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a sharp critique, Baba also criticized former minister Zameer Ahmed Khan, alleging that he has \u201cfunctioned under the influence of Shafi Saadi<\/strong>, who has ties to the BJP<\/strong>.\u201d He claimed Khan has faced the \u201cwrath of the Congress high command\u201d and has created opposition within the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

The federation further accused the current Waqf Board chairman, appointed by Khan, of being unable to function effectively. \u201cA suffocating atmosphere has been created at the board. Chief Minister Shivakumar must intervene to ensure proper administration,\u201d Baba added.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
