Shivakumar<\/strong> on assuming office as the Chief Minister of Karnataka and expressed optimism that his leadership will usher in a new phase of inclusive growth, social justice and communal harmony in the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">In a statement issued from its central office, AIMC National Assistant General Secretary <strong>Sulaiman Khan<\/strong> said Shivakumar&#8217;s rise to the state&#8217;s top post has generated fresh hope among various sections of society. It said a secure environment is necessary for traders, professionals, entrepreneurs and students to contribute effectively to Karnataka&#8217;s growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">&#8220;True progress is built on the pillars of mutual trust,&#8221; Khan said. &#8220;Ensuring socio-economic welfare, educational advancement, adequate political representation and protection of minority rights can make this administration a historic success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\"><strong>Demand for Adequate Political Representation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Council also sought greater representation for minorities in decision-making institutions, including the Rajya Sabha, Legislative Council, State Cabinet, statutory boards, advisory committees and government corporations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Pointing out that elections to four Rajya Sabha seats and seven Legislative Council seats are scheduled this month, the organisation demanded that at least one Rajya Sabha seat and two Legislative Council seats be allotted to Muslim candidates.<\/p>\n<p>The AIMC reaffirmed its willingness to work closely with the state government in building an inclusive, prosperous and secure Karnataka.
