Bengaluru to Witness State-Level Call for Social Justice on 19 September
‘1947ರ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ತಲುಪಿದೆ?’: ಸೆ.19ರಂದು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ನ್ಯಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯಮಟ್ಟದ ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆ
Bengaluru: A broad coalition of constitutionalist, pro-people, secular and progressive organisations is set to hold a state-level protest demonstration at Freedom Park, Bengaluru, on September 19, raising a united call for social justice, equal opportunities and protection of constitutional rights for oppressed and backward communities.
The protest, being organised under the leadership of We The People of India Forum – Karnataka, aims to bring together organisations, activists and citizens committed to strengthening equality, dignity and constitutional values. The campaign carries the powerful slogan: “Who Got It… Where Did the Freedom of ’47 Reach!? Come, Let Us Question the Government – Chalo Bengaluru.”
A Collective Call for Equality and Constitutional Safeguards
The organisers said the protest seeks constructive government action to ensure that historically oppressed and backward communities receive social justice, equal opportunities and effective constitutional safeguards. They emphasised that the campaign is intended to give a stronger democratic voice to communities seeking fairness, representation and equal participation in society.
The protest poster was released on September 5 at a programme held at the Movement for Justice office on Queens Road, Bengaluru.
The poster release was attended by senior theatre personality and writer Shashikanth Yadalli, Dalit leader Hebbal Venkatesh, Kannada activist S. K. Narayana, Mubarak Taj, High Court advocate M. K. Methri, Khalilulla of the Swaraj India Movement, A. J. Khan, and representatives from various fields.
‘Let Us Question and Strengthen Democracy’
Appealing for broad public participation, Dr. Khasim Saab A., State Convenor of We The People of India Forum – Karnataka, along with Abdul Aziz Pendari and D. C. Prakash, urged representatives and activists of different organisations and members of the public to join the September 19 demonstration in large numbers.
The organisers said the mobilisation is an opportunity to renew the collective commitment to equality, justice, dignity and constitutional democracy, while giving hope to communities striving for a more inclusive future.
